THE POWER OF PLANNING

Mighty move of the Holy Spirit was experienced yesterday at LH1 as the service started with moving worship songs and powerful prayer and intercessory session. Not leaving behind the praise session where brethren could be seen really dancing for the Lord. I could tell they were really accomplishing or fulfilling what is written in the Bible, “if you do not praise me, stones will dance for me”, says the Lord.

The session was proceeded by the Bible Class which was conducted by one of our own Sis. Rahab Wanjiku. She taught deeply on the element of prayer in the discipleship cycle. All brethren could be seen noting the points down. It was a session that was worth attending. The choir was also part of the mighty service where God’s presence was manifested as they ministered with wonderful songs and the church couldn’t hesitate to join them in singing the hymns.

Now came the crucial moment of the day where the speaker started the sermon with a lot of potential and moving words to introduce the subject of the day. He was talking passionately about “The Power of Planning”. According to him, planning is the process of outlining strategies in order to attain certain set goals. Basing on the Christian line, brethren should plan in accordance with direction from the Holy Spirit. On the same matter, he emphasized that as Christians plan, they should recognize the sovereignty of God.

In addition to that, Bro Eliud challenged the brethren on two basis of their lives where they should be keen on their planning. That is on time and finances. On this basis, most brothers and sisters in Christ were found to be out of cot since they were unable to manage these two things. They were encouraged to have personal diaries in order to manage their time well. On the issue of finances, the best way to plan for it was to have personal budget and not shopping lists, to plan their finances and have portion of tithes and offerings, to have some savings or even invest in some areas instead of squandering all their finances yet most of their income is loan from HELB. As it is seen in the Biblical context, God Himself was a planner as seen in the creation story. Genesis 1.

In conclusion, dangers of not planning were clearly highlighted; we have misguided priorities and we misuse the resources God has given us. As individuals we should learn and teach ourselves to plan well for our lives. Remember lazy mind is the devils workshop. Plan your life or someone else will plan for you.
